So, who's Hume?

We are the new people on the block. The ones others first look a bit weird at, thinking, “Who are these people, and what do they want?”. We want to extend a polite middle finger to corporate approaches and reinvent how agencies work with clients in the employer branding world.

Do we know exactly where we’ll end up? Hell no. Are we gonna get there without making mistakes? Too late… At Hume, challenging ‘The normal way of doing things’ is exciting. It’s what drives us. We thrive in the underdog role. In a world of big agencies and tight connections (Read: Nepotism), we don’t see an impossible market. We see an opportunity to do something completely different. 

And that is exactly what we have started. It isn’t perfect, but it’s a start. And we’re only getting warmed up.

FOUNDERS' STORY

We began our journey with a focus on students

We started our journey as “Studentcore” in mid-2020. Back then, our main focus was connecting students and companies through live events. Covid-19 made our idea a lot more complex. This meant that the process of on-site marketing and facilitation of our first case competition was more challenging than first anticipated. 

In collaboration with Telenor, we postponed the event date to October 2021, where we organized an amazing event with the most talented tech and IT students on-site at Telenor’s office space in Aalborg.

During this process, we realized we wanted to help companies even more within the employer branding space. We wanted to scale.

Dedicated

When looking for Tech and IT students to join our case competition for Telenor (our first client), we wasted a lot of money on paid marketing that drove no sign-ups. We then traveled to Aalborg, lived on a friend’s couch for two weeks, and knocked on doors until we got the needed sign-ups.

No bullshit

We started our ‘strategy creation’ journey out with bullshitting like everyone else in this industry. We didn’t know it, though, and we did it with good intentions. But when we realized that we once created a strategy that couldn’t be activated in the real world, we pivoted and designed Employer Branding as a Service.

Empowering

We all work differently and are motivated in different ways. What works for one person might not work for another. When the founders need to recharge, you can find Johannes in a game of chess while Jonas takes a power nap. You know best how to create the best outcomes for Hume.

Highly capable

We always strive to deliver something extra to our clients. In only a few years, we have managed to become thought leaders within employer branding, speaking at international gigs and presenting our ideas to some of the biggest companies in Denmark.

Playful provocateurs

We love to split the waters. People should either hate us or love us. That’s a cornerstone of our tone-of-voice and has helped us build brand awareness globally. Companies have reached out because we are NOT like our competitors, and our provocative posts on Linkedin continue to create high engagement and get us invites to podcasts and international speaks.

Trustworthy

We seek to build trust by being honest. We’re honest about our initial approach to employer branding strategy creation wasn’t suited for the fast-paced world of startups and scaleups. Therefore, we pivoted and are now trusted by more companies within our target audience than ever before.
